Come on out to see Upstart play for charity

Upstart will be doin’ their thang for a good cause THIS SATURDAY, 3/19/11 at the Cat Club in LA to benefit the Angel Builders’ organization and hopes that you’ll dig deep and join us for an amazing evening.

Angel Builders’ mission is to implement art, music and performance programs in schools globally, but particularly in impoverished areas of Africa. Upstart is excited to be playing the Sunset strip with some of Tony’s talented music students from Crossroads School in Santa Monica. Hey hey hey.…lots of exciting stuff going on. It’s for real; I actually started recording last weekend, with the Upstart Kids! We got some good sounds up at guitar-man Andy’s studio in Van Nuys. It was a pretty long day, but a great first day of work. Some scratch vocals should be thrown down this week, then hopefully we can get some horny horns on there. Step by Step! We had a great trip to Utah a couple weeks back; it feels a bit like a year ago now. Mike is burning a man this week. I started meetings at school, which is similar to Burning Man, I think. Keep on doing your thing wherever you are. We are all really excited to get some new songs recorded for your aural pleasure! Keep checkin the calendar as shows pop up this fall.
